Q&A : About us

1. How to pronounce your restaurant name?

​

Palate is pronounced as "PALEY" in French or "PELLET" in English. It simply means taste of the roof of your mouth.

​

2. What is your operating hours?

We are currently open for dinner only. Our operation hours are from 5.00 pm till 10.00 pm daily.

​

3. Is your restaurant halal?

Our restaurant has not obtained the halal cert yet but we do not serve pork. All our suppliers and food preparation follows the halal guideline. We do however serve alcohol in our premises.

4. Where is your restaurant located?

We are located in Marina Square Phase 2. We are currently facing some technical issues in the placement of our restaurant in Google Maps.

However, you can manually key in our address in Waze or Google Maps: Lot 1954, Marina Square Phase 2, Marina Commercial Centre, 98000, Miri,Sarawak.

5. What's your payment type?

We accept cash and credit card for transactions above RM100. We also accept Favepay and we are giving out 10% cash back applicable to use for your next visit.

Q&A: Reservation

1. Must I make reservations prior to visiting?

Our restaurant capacity is around 40 pax. Reservations are advisable especially during weekends and we recommend to make your reservations 3 days in advance to avoid disappointment. Our reservations closes 1 hour before our opening hours for same day booking.

2. How should I make my reservations?

You can dm us on fb/instagram or whatsapp us at 0166363335. You can also call us at 085-321891 (3.30pm-10.00pm).

Please opt for 1 method of communication to avoid double booking.

Kindly mention as follows: Your Name, Contact Number, Time and Date and Number of Pax. Kindly mention if you need any baby chair.

3. Hold long will my reservation stands?

We will hold your table for 15 minutes. If you arrive later than 15 mins during peak hours (6.30-8.30 pm (weekends), we will release your table to our walk in customers.If you are unable to make it for your reservations, kindly contact us ahead of time.

4. Do you do private events?

Yes we do. Kindly contact us for further details.

5. Do you provide decorations?

Yes we do, but charges apply.

6. Do you have a time limit in your restaurant?

We do not set a time limit for our customers. Our customers usually spend about 1 hour to 1.5 hours in our restaurant. For walk in customers, our staff will inform you about the next reservation time for your table.

Q&A: Menu

1. Do you serve Vegan Meal?

Yes we do. We have a few Vegan dishes available in our menu for order.

​

2. Why some of the items in your menu are not available for order?

All our ingredients are delivered daily to our restaurant and we will QC all our ingredients. If our ingredients for that day are not fresh, we will not be offering to our customers on that day.

3. How long do I have to wait to be served?

All our meals are prepared when we receive our order slip. We opt to serve you within 15-20 minutes. For our meat entree such as lamb and chicken will take longer time. However, in circumstances where we are having full service, your waiting time will be slightly longer than usual as we follow first come first serve order sequence.

4. Do you take pre-booking for meals?

We only accept pre-booking for special order or events. For dishes available in our menu, we advise our patrons to order when they arrive in case you would like to change your mind.

5. Do you charge corkage for Bring Your Own Bottle?

Yes we do. Our charges is RM50 per bottle for corkage charges.

6. Will you change or upgrade your menu?

Yes! We will be releasing our Palate 2.0 menu very soon! Follow us on fb/instagram for updates.
